Couple of changes at the back for Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer had very little to do against Stuttgart on Tuesday. The German international will be hoping for a similar defensive performance from the team on Friday and end the year with a clean sheet in the Bundesliga.

Nagelsmann has been consistent with his rotation of center-backs. The German coach has given an ample amount of playing time to all three center-backs, so there will be definite changes in the heart of defense on Friday. Lucas Hernandez has played the last two games, so he is likely to be on the bench against Wolfsburg.

With Hernandez on the bench, Niklas Sule and Dayot Upamecano will form the center-back partnership on Friday. Clean sheets have been difficult to come by for Rekordmeister in the Bundesliga this season. Nagelsmann will be hoping that the win against Stuttgart is the benchmark, and his center-back pairing emulates it against Wolfsburg.

Benjamin Pavard will continue to play in the right-back position. The French defender’s deputies are not exactly fit right now, so he has to play every game. Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies will get the nod in the left-back position. The Canadian did get a little bit of rest on Tuesday as he was withdrawn in the second half for Omar Richards.
