Key defenders return to action for Bayern Munich

Apart from Nagelsmann, Manuel Neuer is also likely to be very disappointed with the team’s performances in defense over the past few weeks. The German goalkeeper has been making some amazing saves, but he has very few clean sheets to his name. He will be hoping that Saturday is the start of a run of clean sheets.

Niklas Sule provided a much-needed boost to Julian Nagelsmann on Wednesday. The German defender was back in training after recovering from COVID-19. Sule is likely to go straight back in the team as he has been the best defender for Die Roten this season.

Along with Sule, Dayot Upamecano is likely to be the other center-back against Arminia Bielefeld. The French defender got a midweek rest since he was suspended for the Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv. Upamecano and Sule delivered impressive performances together in the first couple of months of the season, so the Bavarian faithful will be hoping that team will look defensively stable with their return against Bielefeld.

Alphonso Davies won the man of the match award on Tuesday for his complete performance against Dynamo Kyiv. The Canadian winger is likely to continue in the left-back position on Saturday. Meanwhile, Josip Stanisic will occupy the right-back position after coming out of quarantine on Wednesday.
