In the past couple of years, Bayern Munich has parted ways with players on free transfers. The players have been either senior players coming to an end to their career, or they have just decided against giving them new deals. Corentin Tolisso will fall in the second category next summer.

The French midfielder is all set to leave Bavaria next summer on a free transfer. There has been zero noise about talks with the French midfielder regarding an extension for the past couple of years. Tolisso will reportedly attract a lot of interest in January as clubs look to sign a pre-contract agreement with him.

According to Football Italia, Tottenham Hotspurs is leading the race to sign Tolisso on a free transfer. The English club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has reportedly previously tried to sign Tolisso at Juventus. He could finally get his man if Spurs can reach an agreement with him in January.

Spurs will be an exciting project for Tolisso. The English club has started an exciting project under Antonio Conte just before the last international break. They currently have one of the best stadiums in Europe. Moreover, the London-based club can also pay good wages for Tolisso.

The only downside of this move is the uncertainty surrounding Spurs when it comes to Champions League. They are currently playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League after featuring in Europa League last season. However, Conte is a terrific coach, so there is a good chance of Spurs moving on an upward trajectory under him.

Since Tolisso is entering the peak years of his career, he will have a lot of options in the summer transfer window. Spurs definitely tick a lot of boxes, but more clubs are likely to come into the picture since Tolisso will be available on a free transfer.

It is a real shame that things have not worked out for Corentin Tolisso after a brilliant debut season in 2017/18. Injuries have been a constant feature for Tolisso after his debut season. His availability is probably the big reason behind Die Roten’s decision to not award him a new deal.

Nevertheless, Corentin Tolisso has looked decent this season for Bayern whenever he has got the opportunity. He has a good role to play in the club’s targets for this season. A move away from Bavaria could serve him well in the long run, as he will need consistent playing time to get back to his best.
