Thomas Muller
Thomas Muller showed great consistency during October as his omission from the Ballon d’Or list was one of the most baffling events of the month. The German forward has been the creative force of Die Roten for the past two campaigns, and he continued to churn out good performances during October.
It was not a surprise that two defeats for Die Roten in October came in games where Muller was subdued in the number ten position. The German forward was restricted well by Frankfurt and Monchengladbach, but he managed to deliver goods in the remaining games in the month.
In the first half demolition of Leverkusen at Bay Arena, Muller contributed with one goal and assist. He also managed to get an assist to his name during Die Roten’s comfortable 4-0 win against Hoffenheim. The German international also had a rare quiet outing against Benfica, but his work rate in the final third was second to none in that game.
Muller was hurting after the defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach in DFB Pokal. He responded brilliantly a couple of days later by assisting three goals and scoring one against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. The German forward continues to rack up strong numbers in the final third.
