It was a challenging October for Bayern Munich after enjoying a flawless September and August. The defending Bundesliga Champions had a couple of torrid results, but the club did enjoy very dominating performances in tricky games.
October started with the first defeat of the season. Eintracht Frankfurt sprung a surprise by beating Die Roten at Allianz Arena. The home side were wasteful at both ends of the pitch as they scuppered chances to seal the victory and eventually conceded the winner to Frankfurt.
The Bavarian club had to wait for two weeks to bounce back from defeat against Frankfurt due to the international break. Julian Nagelsmann’s men came up with an emphatic performance at Bay Arena after the international break. Die Roten managed to blow away Leverkusen by scoring five goals in the first half.
Win at Leverkusen was followed by positive results against Benfica and Hoffenheim in the Champions League and Bundesliga, respectively. The biggest disappointment of the month came last week as Rekordmeister suffered 5-0 defeat away at Monchengladbach in DFB Pokal. It was the biggest Pokal defeat in the club’s history. Rekordmeister did manage to bounce back quickly from cup elimination by clinching 5-2 win away at Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. During this roller-coaster month, these three players delivered consistent performances.
