Nagelsmann may not make flurry of changes in midfield and attack
Leon Goretzka suffered a knock against Monchengladbach. However, Nagelsmann confirmed on Friday that Goretzka will be fit in time to feature against Union Berlin. The German international was out of action for a week after limping off against Benfica last week.
Goretzka will pair up with Joshua Kimmich in the center of the park on Saturday. The German duo has been the go-to midfield pairing for Nagelsmann. Both of them struggled to stamp their authority in the center of the park against Gladbach, but their consistency for such a long time will make sure that Nagelsmann sticks with this combination on Saturday.
Thomas Muller was flabbergasted by the defeat against Gladbach. The German forward bemoaned about collective failure. He also found it difficult to find a rhythm in the final third. However, his vital experience will be needed in the game against Union Berlin. The German forward will occupy the number ten position on Saturday.
On the flanks, Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry will most likely start for Die Roten. Robert Lewandowski was hurting after the defeat against Gladbach. The Polish striker will be looking to make it up for Wednesday’s disappointment by scoring goals against Union Berlin.
