After the end of the summer transfer window, contract renewals of key players have been on the agenda for Bayern Munich. The defending Bundesliga champions have sorted a couple of renewals while talks continue to progress with Serge Gnabry. The contract renewals are also expected to have an impact on the future of a few fringe players in the squad.

According to SportBild, Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic is looking to trim the squad in the summer and winter window to offset the increase in wages for key first-team players. The transfer fee and wages offloaded from the departure of fringe players may also give room for new arrivals.

This report also confirms that Marc Roca, Mickael Cuisance, and Bouna Sarr are the three players that could leave Bavaria. The trio has been used sporadically by Julian Nagelsmann, which might force them to look for a transfer in January.

Cuisance and Roca have been left out of matchday squads when all midfielders are available for selection. Nagelsmann has insisted that both young midfielders need to work harder to become options for the starting XI.

Roca has been unfortunate with a serious injury during pre-season training. The Spaniard had worked hard during summer to be physically fit for the new campaign. However, a serious injury kept him out of pre-season-friendly games. He missed out on an opportunity to impress Nagelsmann and give him a selection dilemma in the center of the park.

Meanwhile, Cuisance was expected to leave Bavaria in summer. After a poor loan spell at Marseille last season, the German club was looking to part ways with Cuisance. However, the lack of adequate offers for a permanent move made sure that the French midfielder stayed in Bavaria.

Sarr was another player that Die Roten was actively looking to offload during the summer window. The French full-back had struggled to make a significant impact during his debut season last year. At the moment, Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Sule, and Josip Stanisic are the players ahead of Sarr in the right-back position. Sarr’s wages made it difficult for Die Roten to arrange a permanent transfer last summer.

Along with these three players, Die Roten will also get funds from the possible transfer of Kingsley Coman. The talks for contract renewal with the French winger have hit an impasse due to his wage demands. Coman is reportedly eyeing a move to Premier League. With less than two years left on his contract, Rekordmeister will be looking to cash in next summer. Corentin Tolisso will also leave Die Roten next summer on free transfer. The possible departure of these five players will give Die Roten enough financial room for new arrivals and contract renewals.
