Straightforward selections in midfield and attack for Bayern

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich excelled for Germany as midfield pivot during the international break. Both midfielders have been in fine form for Die Roten this season as they provide the ideal base for attacking players to flourish higher up the pitch.

There is a good case for Nagelsmann to rotate midfielders, but he is unlikely to make changes in a big game against Leverkusen. The German coach will have another option in the midfield this weekend as Corentin Tolisso is completely fit and ready to be included in the matchday squad.

Leroy Sane will definitely start on the left flank for Rekordmeister since he is in the middle of a good run of form. On the right flank, Serge Gnabry is likely to get the nod. Kingsley Coman is back in first-team training, but Die Roten is likely to ease him into the starting lineup after recovering from minor heart surgery.

Thomas Muller will start in the number ten position for Bayern on Sunday. The experienced German forward had a very productive outing with Germany as he was amongst goals and assists across two games. Robert Lewandowski had a quiet break with Poland, so he will be looking to get back on the scoresheet on Sunday.
