The two months of the new campaign have given an overview regarding players that will be crucial for Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich. The German manager has not heavily rotated between Champions League and Bundesliga games, which has led to very less playing time for fringe players in the squad.

Marc Roca and Tanguy Nianzou are the two young players that are yet to get consistent playing time this season. The two young players have found it difficult to dislodge quality players in the training session. If things don’t change for both players, then it could be decision time for them in the winter transfer window.

Nianzou currently has three defenders in the squad ahead of him. Niklas Sule, Dayot Upamecano, and Lucas Hernandez have shared game time in the heart of defense during the last two months. Nianzou did get few minutes here and there, but he does need a longer run in the team to showcase his qualities.

According to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern currently has no plans to sanction a loan move for Nianzou in January. The club’s decision to keep him as cover in case an injury crisis emerges in the heart of defense may not be beneficial to his development.

Since moving from PSG in 2020, Nianzou has had consistent setbacks. He struggled with injuries during his debut season. The French defender has not got a run of games under his belt for more than 18 months. A loan move could definitely help his development back on track. Die Roten should try to secure a six-month loan move for him in January and assess his situation next summer.

Meanwhile, Roca also finds himself in a similar position. According to Florian Plettenberg of Sport1 (via iMiaSanMia), Roca will hold talks with Julian Nagelsmann and Die Roten to get clarity regarding his playing time. The Spaniard is yet to get a start this season.

Roca was unfortunate to suffer an injury at the start of pre-season. He did work hard during the summer to prepare for the new campaign after struggling to get playing time in his debut season. However, things have not gone as per plans for him, with Nagelsmann publicly urging him to work more hard in training.

These two young players are currently in a sticky situation at Die Roten. Considering the depth of the squad, both of them can really benefit from a short loan move to get back the confidence and rhythm. Unless Nagelsmann heavily rotates the team in the next couple of months, Bayern will be busy with arranging loan spells for fringe players.
