Despite the defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, Bayern Munich has made a tremendous start to the campaign. The German Champions have suffered only one defeat in two months with the perfect start to the Cup competitions. Bayern currently sits at the top of the Bundesliga and Champions League Group table. The Bavarian club has also qualified for the second round of DFB Pokal.

Apart from results, the performances have steadily improved under Julian Nagelsmann. Die Roten is comfortable dominating opposition with and without the ball. The attacking players are scoring goals for fun, while the defensive unit is conceding minimal chances to the opposition.

Nagelsmann has also managed to improve individuals along with implementing a solid structure and style of play. The German coach is rightly getting plaudits for making an outstanding start to his career in Bavaria.

Former Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann has heaped praise on Nagelsmann for overseeing a solid start to the season. While talking to Freesupertips, Hamann outlined Nagelsmann’s quality to improve players and team. The former German international is particularly pleased with Nagelsmann’s management of Leroy Sane. He has also backed Marcel Sabitzer to become an important player in the squad.

"“I think Nagelsmann improves players and that improves the team which is hard to do with the talent Bayern Munich have. I think he’s done a brilliant job in such a short space of time.”“But what I have to say is, Leroy Sane for the first time in years is now looking like the player he can be. Guardiola and Flick didn’t manage it, but Nagelsmann looks the right fit because Sane has been brilliant the past few weeks.”"

Apart from two league games against Frankfurt and Monchengladbach, Die Roten has scored at least three goals every game. Robert Lewandowski continues to be a goalscoring machine, while other attacking players are also chipping in with vital contributions under Nagelsmann.

Sane endured a tough start to the campaign, but Nagelsmann’s decision to move him to the left flank has paid dividends for the team and player. The German winger is also occupying central positions along with providing width on the left flank. Moreover, Sane is also working tirelessly when the team is chasing the ball.

The one aspect Nagelsmann may have to work on is the efficient squad rotation, particularly in central and attacking midfield positions. Since Die Roten plays two games a week for most of the campaign, rotating the squad properly allows the team to go deep into every competition. He will be able to test the depth of the squad after the international break as most of the injured players will be available for selection.

Nagelsmann will be facing much more difficult tests as the season progress. However, a strong start has given him the ideal platform to build on. The knockout rounds of the Champions League and big games in the Bundesliga will further test his tactics and methods.
