Bayern Munich: Predicted team in home clash against Frankfurt
Bayern Munich will stick with the same back four
Manuel Neuer was annoyed with the late goal conceded against Furth last weekend. The German goalkeeper will be hoping for a much better showing from his team on Sunday to collect his third clean sheet of the season.
Bayern is likely to field the same back four in front of Neuer that started against Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday. In the central defense, Nagelsmann may opt for the pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Lucas Hernandez. The French duo has been in fine form this season, so the German coach will be sticking with them against Frankfurt.
Niklas Sule is likely to slot in the right-back position since Benjamin Pavard has been suspended for two league games after he was sent off against Furth. Sule has already played in the right-back position on more than one occasion. He does take up a much more conservative position compared to left-back in the team. Sule’s good passing range allows him to play crisp passes on the flank and link up well with the wide player on the right flank.
Alphonso Davies will complete the back four by occupying the left-back position. The 20-year-old full-back has rediscovered his best form this season after a challenging season in Bavaria last year. With every passing game, Nagelsmann has made sure that Die Roten concede fewer chances to the opposition. Along with the German coach’s system, the form of all three senior center-backs and full-backs has played a key role in making Rekordmeister a solid defensive unit.
