Bayern Munich faces Eintracht Frankfurt in their final match before the October international break begins. Having won their last five Bundesliga fixtures, Bayern has been in spectacular form as of late and will be heavily favored to record another three points on Sunday. Here are four things to watch for ahead of the Matchday Seven encounter.

An offensive showcase

Bayern has been scoring plenty of goals with 23 recorded in the Bundesliga so far this season. On Sunday, they could make it ten consecutive matches of performances of three goals or more in all competitions. Ever since their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the DFL-Supercup, Die Roten has scored at least three goals per match.

This offensive showcase of goalscoring ability has been one of the key reasons why they have remained undefeated. If they are able to record another match of three goals or more against Frankfurt then Bayern should find themselves with another three points. The last time Frankfurt visited the Allianz Arena it was a commanding 5-0 victory for Bayern.

Frankfurt in search of their first victory

It’s been a slow start to the season for Frankfurt. They have only lost one match so far but their other remaining results have all been draws. As a result, their first victory of the Bundesliga season has remained elusive and they are currently sitting in the bottom half of the table.

Frankfurt hasn’t conceded or scored many goals since their 5-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Matchday One. Since that loss, they have scored just four goals and conceded four goals in their last five league matches. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to hold Bayern offensively as they have been able to do to other clubs in the last few weeks. Their lack of goals has to be a concern considering Bayern has allowed just five league goals so far.

Robert Lewandowski’s impact

Since joining Bayern, Robert Lewandowski has scored 15 goals against Frankfurt in 16 appearances. The star striker has been very impactful against Frankfurt and he will be looking to add to his season goal total. With seven goals scored by the Poland international so far this season, Lewandowski could become the first player to reach the ten-goal mark with a hat-trick on Sunday.

Leroy Sane nearing 20 Bundesliga goals

Sane needs just one more goal to reach 20 career goals in the German top flight. He will enter Sunday’s match with 19 goals in 85 Bundesliga appearances. Lately, Sane has been in fantastic form with three goals and four assists in his last five appearances for Bayern. Another goal for the winger would certainly be a great way to enter the October international break.
