Robert Lewandowski
It was a memorable month for Robert Lewandowski as he was awarded the golden boot for his record-breaking 40 Bundesliga goal season last year. The Polish striker continues to make a strong case for the same award this year by consistently finding the back of the net.
Lewandowski began the month with a solitary goal against RB Leipzig. A single goal looks like an off day for the Poland international as he scores in bulk every game. With the team’s structure in the final third improving every passing, Lewandowski is likely to score more goals.
Following the game against Leipzig, Lewandowski scored five goals in four games across all competitions. He also found the back of the net against Barcelona. The 33-year-old striker is also consistently making a big impact on big games.
The only negative aspect of September for Lewandowski was the end of his streak of scoring at least one goal in every game since February. He was not on the scoresheet in the Bundesliga clash against Fuerth last weekend. However, he made up for that game by getting a brace against Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday. Nevertheless, it was yet another productive month for Lewandowski as he strengthened his case of being the best striker in the world.
