Julian Nagelsmann unlikely to rotate heavily in midfield against Kyiv

During the pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Nagelsmann confirmed that Joshua Kimmich would certainly play against Kyiv. The German midfielder is one of the certain starters for Nagelsmann since he plays a big role in how Die Roten dominates the opposition. Marc Roca will have to wait patiently for his chance as Kimmich is not getting a rest anytime soon.

Kimmich is likely to be partnered with Marcel Sabitzer, giving Leon Goretzka rest after starting every game in the past few weeks. The Austrian midfielder had been waiting patiently for the first start in the Bavarian colours due to the form of Goretzka. He might finally get one on Wednesday.

Kingsley Coman has returned to team training after undergoing minor heart surgery. However, the French winger will not be available for selection against Kyiv. Nagelsmann might give Leroy Sane a breather and start Jamal Musiala on the left flank.

Serge Gnabry will return to the starting lineup on Wednesday after completely recovering from a minor knock. Thomas Muller will be looking to continue his brilliant form on Wednesday as he slots in the number ten position. Robert Lewandowski didn’t score in a game after a long time last weekend, so the Polish striker will be looking to begin a new streak when he leads the attack against Kyiv.
