In one of their key early-season matches, Bayern Munich was victorious. Die Roten defeated RB Leipzig 4-1 at the Red Bull Arena to earn an important three points away from home. There were four goals from four different players as it was a complete team effort to record the victory. The substitutions Julian Naglesmann made proved to be among the most impactful players with two substitutes finding the back of the net in the second half. Here are the top three performers from the 4-1 win.

Jamal Musiala

After entering the match right before halftime for the injured Serge Gnabry, Musiala went on to score a goal and register an assist. The 18-year-old talent scored a fantastic goal in the 47th minute in what was a crucial moment shortly after the first kick of the second half. Just a few minutes later, Musiala was involved in another goal. This time he found Leroy Sane at the far post to register his second assist of the Bundesliga season.

It was the first time in his very early Bundesliga career that Musiala has registered a goal and an assist in the same match. This certainly won’t be the last time the rising star records a goal and an assist in a single appearance. He is well on his way to becoming a player that features week after week for Bayern.

Alphonso Davies

The left-back picked up his first assist of the campaign with a great cross to Musiala for his early second-half goal. This wasn’t the only big chance he would create as he nearly set up Robert Lewandowski for his second goal of the match. Davies would finish the match with three key passes, three dribbles, and an 83% pass completion percentage.

Defensively, Davies led all Bayern players with four tackles. His top speed in this match was 36.08 km/h which now ties him with Arminia Bielefeld’s Bryan Lasme for the fastest top speed recorded in the Bundesliga this season. Overall it was a great performance for Davies after he had to leave international duty with Canada early after picking up an injury.

Leroy Sane

After a strong performance for Germany during the September international break, Sane’s good form continued on Saturday. He was on target for Bayern for the first time in the Bundesliga this season. In addition to his second-half goal, Sane led all players on the pitch with four key passes. He was also tied with Davies for most dribbles recorded. Further, he recorded an 86.5% pass completion percentage which was the best completion percentage of any Bayern player.

Sane did not score or register an assist in his first three appearances of the season. However, he has now recorded at least one goal or one assist in five of his last six appearances for both club and country. Hopefully, this type of consistency continues in the coming weeks for the 25-year-old.
