Apart from Musiala and Lewandowski, few more senior players fared well for Die Roten in August. However, Josip Stanisic deserves to be on this list for making an instant impact in the first team.

After Benjamin Pavard suffered a serious injury before the first league game of the season, Nagelsmann handed a start to Stanisic against Borussia Monchengladbach. The Croatian was one of the few young players that had impressed Nagelsmann during pre-season-friendly games.

Stanisic repaid the faith of Nagelsmann by delivering a solid performance against Gladbach. He went on to get three more starts in August, including the DFL Supercup game against Borussia Dortmund. The youngster has shown great maturity while defending against wide players. He has been good on the ball but needs to work more while going ahead. He has the right manager in Julian Nagelsmann to polish the rough edges of his game.

The German Champions have decided to abandon plans to sign a new right-back after impressive performances from Stanisic. He is already ahead of Bouna Sarr in the pecking order. Stanisic may get less playing time once Pavard recovers from injury, but he is still likely to end up crucial role for the first team after enjoying a productive August.
