Bayern Munich go into the first international break on a good note as they clinched an emphatic 5-0 win against Hertha Berlin at Allianz Arena on Saturday. The German Champions have enjoyed a fairly good start to the new season in August.

After going through a difficult pre-season due to poor results and players joining late for training due to Euro commitments, Bayern began the new campaign with 1-1 draw away at Borussia Park in the Bundesliga. The defending champions enjoyed a promising performance in the second half of this game to build momentum for the rest of the month.

The biggest victory in August came against Borussia Dortmund in DFL Supercup. Julian Nagelsmann opened his account for silverware in Bavaria with a win against the club’s archrivals. It was an impressive performance from Die Roten as Dortmund found it difficult to dominate them at Signal Iduna Park for long periods of the game.

The final seven days of August saw more than a dozen of goals from Rekordmeister. They managed to clinch a thrilling 3-2 win against FC Koln in the Bundesliga before putting 12 past Bremer SV in DFB Pokal. The win against Hertha in the third league game of the season capped off a productive month that saw Die Roten climb to the third position in the table. Let us look at top performers for the Bavarian club in the first month of the campaign.
