Full strength midfield and attack against Monchengladbach

While there are few question marks in selections at the back, Nagelsmann will not have to think much about midfield composition. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are fit to start, so both of them are likely to start in the center of the park.

The German midfield duo has formed a very strong partnership in the last couple of seasons. Both players will be the cornerstone of midfield for Nagelsmann this season. Kimmich has reportedly signed a new deal while talks are progressing well with Goretzka.

In the attacking midfield position, Thomas Muller will be deployed against Monchengladbach. Muller has been exceptional in the last two seasons and can be considered as one of the best number tens in Europe. The German international will be looking to continue this form by delivering a strong performance in Borussia Park.

Since Kingsley Coman only returned to first-team training this week, he might start on the bench. Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry will start on both flanks, while last season’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski will lead the line on Friday evening. The Polish striker will be eyeing another goalscoring start to the campaign after scoring record 41 goals last season.
