Mikkel Damsgaard

Mikkel Damsgaard silenced the Wembley Stadium with an inch-perfect free-kick to give Denmark the lead in the semi-final against England this week. Denmark eventually fell short in the game, but Damsgaard shone throughout his stay on the pitch. It was not a surprise to see Denmark struggling in the attack after he was substituted.

Damsgaard has been impressive for Denmark throughout Euro 2020. The 19-year-old winger consistently made darting runs in the box to create space and chances for his teammates. He ended the tournament with two goals and one assist.

The youngster can play on either flank and become a threat with his quality on and off the pitch. Damsgaard still needs to polish the rough edges of his game, but he can surely be a signing for now and future for Die Roten.

After a strong Euro 2020, Damsgaard will be attracting a lot of interest from different clubs in Europe. With three years left on his contract, Sampdoria are in a strong position to get a big fee for the player. Even though he will initially play sporadically for Die Roten, Mikkel Damsgaard has the ability to become a key player for the club in the future.
