Midfield and attack for Bayern against Augsburg

In the midfield department, Javi Martinez is going to start for Die Roten on Saturday. Hansi Flick confirmed that the Spaniard will be in the starting XI during his pre-match press conference. Martinez will also play his final game in the Bavarian colours as he will be leaving the club once his contract expires next month.

Joshua Kimmich is likely to play a much more attacking role against Augsburg while partnering Martinez in the center of the park. The German midfielder will operate as a box-to-box midfielder and link up midfield and attack.

Fresh from getting a call-up from the German national team, Thomas Muller will be looking to round up a good week with a strong performance against Augsburg. He will operate in the usual number ten role behind the striker.

Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman will operate in the wide areas for Die Roten against Augsburg. The German winger will operate from the right side, while Coman will play on the left flank. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for one last time this season as he looks to break Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. The Polish striker needs only one goal since he equaled this record during the high-scoring draw against Freiburg last weekend.
