Bayern Munich was held for a draw by Freiburg on matchday 33 of the Bundesliga. Even though the result was not favourable for the team, it was a historic day as Robert Lewandowski managed to equal Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a single Bundesliga. There were some other promising performances in this game, so here are complete player ratings.

Manager Rating

Hansi Flick — 7/10

Hansi Flick made the right changes during the game and got the lineup right. Some of the play in the final third was exquisite, but the team had few lapses in concentration while defending. Flick will be looking to end his time at the club on a high by winning the season’s final game next week.

Player Ratings

GK, Alexander Nubel — 7.5/10

After 32 matchdays, Nubel finally got the chance to make his Bundesliga debut for Die Roten. He grabbed this chance with both hands by making two tremendous saves in the second half. He couldn’t have done anything for the first goal, but stronger reflexes would have helped him to avoid the second goal. Apart from one shaky moment when he came off the line and almost handled the ball outside the box, it was a good debut for the goalkeeper.

DEF, Niklas Sule — 6.5/10

Sule started in the right-back position against Freiburg. The German defender lost his man for Freiburg’s goal in the first half. Apart from that glaring mistake, he had a solid game defensively. The German international made a pivotal block in the second half to deny Freiburg from getting the equaliser. While going forward, his final ball was poor, but Sane’s good performance made sure that Die Roten didn’t need an extra attacking outlet.

DEF, Jerome Boateng — 7/10

Boateng continues to maintain consistency in his performance. He was comfortable while defending for most of the afternoon against Freiburg. Ending the season strongly is a good way to attract more suitors in the summer transfer window.

DEF, Lucas Hernandez — 7/10

Hernandez is warming up well to play in the left center back position from next season. The French defender was solid defensively against Freiburg, but his passing often let him down. With more playing time, he is definitely going to polish this rough edge of his game.

DEF, Alphonso Davies —7/10

Davies had a decent outing against Freiburg. He made some great recovery tackles to help the team from a difficult situation. The teenager was not at his best while going forward despite putting a fairly decent performance.
