Bayern Munich got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga with a narrow 3-2 win away at Wolfsburg on Saturday. The German Champions now need three more wins to retain the Bundesliga title as they opened up a lead of seven points at the top of the table.

Manager Rating

Hansi Flick — 8/10

Hansi Flick got the starting XI spot on. Kingsley Coman did look tired against PSG, so he deserved rest. His replacement managed to come up with two crucial goals. Substitutes were very few for Die Roten, but it is understandable since there were very few options on the bench.

Player Ratings

GK, Manuel Neuer — 7/10

Manuel Neuer was unfortunate with both goals as it was not his fault at all. The German international did make a couple of good saves to keep Wolfsburg at the bay after scoring the second goal.

DEF, Benjamin Pavard — 7/10

Benjamin Pavard had another steady performance for Die Roten. The Frenchman is finally finding back his mojo after a difficult second season at the club. Pavard was competent defensively and provided an avenue while going forward whenever it was possible.

DEF, Jerome Boateng — 6/10

Jerome Boateng had a remarkable performance against PSG on Tuesday. He did look tired against Wolfsburg, which lead to a minor mistake for Wolfsburg’s first goal. He didn’t close down the forward to block the shot. Boateng also lost the man for the second goal. On the ball, he was immaculate, but defensively he was below his high standards.

DEF, Lucas Hernandez — 7/10

On Tuesday, Lucas Hernandez produced one of the best performances for a central defender in the Champions League this season. Despite carrying the knock, he was colossal against Wolfsburg too. The Frenchman was at times rash, but his reading of the game was on point. Die Roten will be hoping that his injury is not serious as he was substituted due to a knock late in the game.

DEF, Alphonso Davies — 6.5/10

Alphonso Davies had a mixed game against Wolfsburg. He was threatening while going forward, providing imagination and width. His efforts were rewarded when he provided the assist for Musiala’s first goal. However, Davies was caught ball watching for Wolfsburg’s second goal. He didn’t spot the run of Maximilian Philipp.
