MID, Joshua Kimmich —8 /10

Kimmich played in the deeper role for Die Roten against Werder Bremen. He helped the team to steadily increase the tempo and gain control of the game. The German midfielder was close to opening the scoring with a sweetly struck volley from the edge of the box in the first half.

Eventually, Kimmich played a decisive role in the first goal. His decisive delivery from the corner was flicked towards Goretzka by Muller. Kimmich gave his team an edge on every set-piece with his accurate deliveries. His immaculate passing and positioning helped the visitors to pin Bremen in their half and gave them minimum chances in the final third.

MID, Leon Goretzka — 8/10

Goretzka continued his good form in the center of the park. The German midfielder’s game might not be aesthetically pleasing, but his efficiency and accurate decision-making are the attributes that make him one of the best midfield players in Europe.

The German international as usual mixed caution and aggression to help Die Roten in dominating the game against Werder Bremen. His good form in the final third continued for the third week in a row as he opened the scoring with a thumping header in the first half. Goretzka’s form is going to be key for Rekordmeister to dominate games in Europe against the best teams in Europe.
