Bayern Munich continued the winning run across all competitions on Saturday since the defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in February. The latest victory came away at Werder Bremen. All Die Roten players delivered quality performances to make it a comfortable 3-1 win in Bremen. Let us briefly look at every individual performance in this game.

Manager Rating

Hansi Flick — 7.5/10

Flick’s team selection was spot on against Werder Bremen. He managed to give rest to important players in defense and churn out a comfortable victory. However, Flick could have made changes early in the game since Die Roten has a midweek Champions League game against Lazio. Apart from substitutes, it was a good afternoon for Flick.

Player Ratings

GK, Manuel Neuer — 7/10

It was a comfortable afternoon in Bremen for Neuer. He hardly had to make any big save throughout the game. However, a lapse in concentration from Die Roten’s defense late in the game ruined Neuer’s clean sheet.

DEF, Benjamin Pavard — 7/10

Pavard made his first start on Saturday after recovering from coronavirus. The French full-back was tidy on the ball and defended well against Milot Rashica throughout the game. Pavard getting back to his best would benefit the team a lot going into the final stretch of the season.

DEF, Jerome Boateng — 7/10

Boateng recovered in time to start against Werder Bremen. He had suffered a muscle injury against Borussia Dortmund. Apart from a lapse in concentration for Bremen’s goal in the 85th minute, Boateng was solid throughout the game.

DEF, Lucas Hernandez — 7/10

Hernandez slotted in the central defense after Alaba was ruled out due to a minor injury. The French defender was aggressive in terms of winning duels, helping the team to play on the front foot. However, his aggressiveness also led to spoiling a well-deserved clean sheet after lunging in for the tackle in the build-up of Bremen’s goal. Overall, it was a comfortable outing for Hernandez.

DEF, Alphonso Davies —7.5 /10

Davies continued his good form on Saturday. The Canadian international was relentless throughout the game on the left flank. Davies delivered some delicious crosses, but unfortunately, they were not converted in this game. He was also solid defensively against Bremen. After a slow start to the season, Davies is getting back to his best at the crucial time of the season.
