MID, Leon Goretzka — 8 /10

Goretzka continues to get better as the season progresses. The German midfielder continues to refine his game that helps Flick to field a very dynamic midfield combination. The former Schalke midfielder was relentless throughout the game against Borussia Dortmund. He was reading the game to perfection, sniffing danger by making vital interceptions and challenges.

When Die Roten was pushing for the goal, Goretzka effectively operated as a number ten between the lines. The 26-year-old midfielder dovetailed brilliantly with Joshua Kimmich throughout the game. An action-packed midfield performance was rounded off with a stunning volley in the 88th minute. Rekordmeister needs to secure his future as soon as possible.

MID, Joshua Kimmich —  /10

Kimmich continues to drop consistent performances week in week out. He also had a slow start to the game like all other Bayern players. However, he responded brilliantly by taking the game by the scruff of the neck. He started winning all 50-50s in the midfield and helped the team to enjoy sustained possession in the final third.

The German international also didn’t hesitate to join the attack whenever possible. His venomous strike early in the second half almost presented Bayern the lead. Yet another stellar display in the center of the park for Kimmich against Dortmund.
