Champions League clash against Lazio

On the back of two wretched performances in the Bundesliga, Die Roten was expected to have a very tough game in Rome against Lazio. However, the German champions cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win against the Italian club last week.

It was almost a perfect result for Rekordmeister until they conceded one goal. They still remain favourites to go through due to four away goals. However, stranger things have happened with Die Roten’s defense this season.

The game against Lazio will be played in the third week of March at Allianz Arena. It will be an intriguing game where Flick is likely to go full strength to make sure that there is no ray of hope for Simone Inzaghi’s team. Tactics will play a big role in this game, but stopping players from being complacent due to the first leg’s result.

Apart from Der Klassiker and Lazio, the other two opponents for Die Roten in March are Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart. Winning those two games will be paramount for Flick to keep the team ahead in the title race. The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that there are no sluggish performances this month as there is an ample amount to time for players to recover between two games.
