Bayern Munich cruise to win against FC Koln: Player Ratings
MID, Joshua Kimmich — 7/10
Kimmich started the game slowly. He was misplacing passes whenever Bayern was looking to break away. As the game went on, Kimmich got better. Since Goretzka was playing higher up the pitch, Kimmich was operating in a deeper position, helping the team to dictate the tempo of the game.
MID, Leon Goretzka — 9/10
Goretzka continues to get better with every passing game this season. The German midfielder’s absence in the last few weeks highlighted his importance to this team. Goretzka’s immaculate awareness in the center of the park helps the team to be better defensively and offensively.
In the game against Koln, Goretzka played two delightful passes in the first half to set up two goals. For Choupo-Moting’s goal, the German international delivered an inch-perfect cross. In the buildup to Lewandowski’s goal, Goretzka showed great footwork and composure to pass the ball despite being in a very good position to take the shot himself.
The 26-year-old midfielder came close to getting a well-deserved goal when his shot was brilliantly saved by Horn. Goretzka also set up Gnabry for the fourth goal with another delightful cross. A complete midfield performance from the German international on his Bundesliga return after three weeks.
