Robert Lewandowski continues to age like a fine wine

Two years ago, it looked certain that Robert Lewandowski will join a European rival as he issued a transfer request. The Bavarian faithful wanted the Polish striker. Their wish didn’t go unheard as Bayern remained firm on not entertaining offers. The club ended up convincing the Polish striker to commit his long-term future to the club.

Since the failed transfer, Lewandowski has become a much better player. He enjoyed a prolific 2018/19 campaign, but 2019/20 was the best season of his career. The Pole went on to score 55 goals across all competitions, with 15 being in the Champions League. He has been often criticized for not turning up in the big European games, but he silenced those critics.

Lewandowski is getting better with every passing season. He is currently on track to have another campaign where he can score more than 50 goals. In a normal scenario, fans expect a forward to decline after the age of 30. However, Lewandowski is unique as he is showing improvement in his superb all-round game at the age of 32.

The Bavarian faithful consider Lewy as a legend. This winter, they would love the Poland international to continue his good form and get better than the previous campaign, as he has done for years.
