Winning a treble takes a complete team effort. However, there are talismanic figures in the squad that lead from the front. Bayern has a lot of senior players, and all of them played a big role in winning three trophies last season. However, Robert Lewandowski was at a different level to everyone in the squad.

The Polish striker chipped in with crucial goals when the team was struggling under Kovac. He maintained that form after his departure and scored 35 goals in the Bundesliga. The Polish striker made it a mission to deliver in CL after being heavily criticised for not doing it at the biggest stage.

Lewandowski went on to score in every CL game last season apart from the final. He ended up with 15 goals in the European competition. Overall, the Pole enjoyed the best season of his career with 55 goals across all competitions.
