Alaba provides balance in defense as he is a left-footed central defender. Having a left-footed defender helps in having more efficiency in build-up play. The German Champions currently have Lucas Hernandez that can offer similar balance since his preferred foot is left.

However, Hernandez has been doing well in the left-back position this season. The Frenchman could compete with Alphonso Davies for this position. Die Roten can look at Villareal defender Pau Torres to have the same balance in central defense when Alaba leaves next summer.

Torres is good on the ball and also has incredible pace in his locker. However, he is not strong in aerial duels despite being considerably tall. The Spanish international has been steadily improving in Villareal. His consistent performances at the club level have helped him to get a call up for the Spanish squad.

Similar to Kounde, the transfer fee for Torres will be a big obstacle. The Spanish defender is likely to cost excess of €50 million due to his high release clause. However, Torres will help Die Roten to provide the balance in the back four. Pairing a dominant center-back like Niklas Sule with Torres can give Bayern an ideal platform to dominate the opposition with the ball.
