Takeaways from Bayern Munich’s crucial win against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

It was yet another successful weekend for Bayern Munich as they clinched another victory in the Bundesliga. The win on Saturday was even sweeter as it came against arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund. It was not a resounding three points as BVB showed quality in the final third, but the defending champions managed to return home with a 3-2 win.

Dortmund had taken the lead late in the first half. However, Die Roten were in no mood to go into the break behind in the game. David Alaba continues to show his importance in this team by scoring a vital freekick a minute before the half time whistle.

Robert Lewandowski gave the visitors an upper hand in the game by scoring after the break. He continued hot goalscoring form in the Bundesliga by scoring one against his former club and had two chalked off due to narrow offside calls. The Polish striker has 11 goals in six Bundesliga games this season.

Leroy Sane rounded off an impressive away performance by scoring a fine individual goal in the second half. BVB got themselves back in the game, courtesy of yet another goal from Erling Braut Haaland. However, the European champions saw out the game to remain top of the table. Here are important takeaways from yet another Der Klassiker victory for Rekordmeister.
