Match Preview: Bayern Munich travel to Moscow in matchday two of CL

Opposition Focus

At the start of the season, Bayern looked vulnerable on the counter. Hoffenheim exploited that weakness effectively, but since that game, Die Roten has looked less vulnerable as they have been much more compact defensively.

Despite that improvement defensively for Rekordmeister, it is still the best route to beat them. Lokomotiv Moscow will not get many chances despite playing at home as Die Roten dominates possession. The hosts will have to be more secure in possession to create clear cut chances on Tuesday.

Grzegorz Krychowiak will be the key man for Lokomotiv. The Polish midfield will have to shield the defense and move the ball quickly on turnovers. In the attack. Lokomotiv will be banking on the experience of Eder and Fedor Smolov to trouble Die Roten’s defense. Both forwards will be a handful from setpieces too.

Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Bayern Munich

Bayern has been in sublime form, but Tuesday will be their toughest game of this season till now. Die Roten will have enough to get the win. However, I am expecting Lokomotiv to get at least one goal and give Rekordmeister a tough fight on home turf.
