Serge Gnabry vs  Renan Lodi

Robert Lewandowski was the main man in attack for Bayern Munich last season, but Serge Gnabry had an equally productive Champions League campaign. The German winger enjoyed playing against London teams as he scored six goals against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs.

Gnabry also came up with a big goal against Lyon in the semi-finals. He has started the 2020/21 campaign in the best possible way by scoring a hattrick in the first league game against Schalke. Since that game, Gnabry has delivered few quiet performances. However, the German forward remains the most potent winger the club has in the absence of injured Leroy Sane.

Since Kingsley Coman is likely to start on left, Gnabry will play on the right flank against Atletico Madrid. The German winger will come up against Renan Lodi on this flank. The 22-year-old Brazilian full-back enjoyed a productive campaign with Atletico last season, making him one of the most promising left-backs in Europe.

Lodi missed the game against Celta Vigo due to injury, but he has travelled to Munich with the squad. The Brazilian full-back is an aggressive defender who is strong in one vs one duels. Lodi is not the most attacking full-back, but he has a good cross in his locker. He will have to be at his best to stop Gnabry since the German winger can stretch the defense by cutting inside or provide width by hugging the touchline. Considering the qualities of these young players, it could be a fascinating individual battle on Wednesday.
