Three individual duels to watch out during FC Bayern Munich’s clash against Atletico Madrid.

After three successive wins in domestic competitions, FC Bayern Munich is set to kick off the Champions League title defense with a clash against Atletico Madrid at Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Die Roten has endured a good start to the campaign. They clinched UEFA Supercup against Sevilla in September. Domestically, they won three out of four league games this season. Bayern also got their hands on DFL Supercup by beating Borussia Dortmund before the last international break.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid has endured a mixed start to the campaign. The Spanish club has dropped points in two games, but they come into this game with a 2-0 win against Celta Vigo last weekend. Atletico will be looking to get the Champions League campaign to a good start after a disappointing defeat against RB Leipzig in the quarter-finals last season.

The German Champions last faced Atletico in the group stage in 2016, winning at home and losing away in Vicente Calderon. Both teams have got better of each other twice in this competition during the last decade. Let us look at three important duels that will have a big say on the outcome of Wednesday’s game.
