Ample amount of depth in the strike force

Lewandowski will be the main man for Bayern in the attack. The Polish striker has been scoring goals for fun in the last six seasons. He remains determined to play at the top level for a few more years. His fitness record has been impressive, allowing him to play every game.

However, Die Roten needs to be careful while managing the workload of the 32-year-old striker. Since games will come thick and fast throughout the campaign, Lewandowski will need to be rested for few games.

Keeping these things in mind, Bayern signed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a free transfer. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker will fill in for Lewandowski. He has already opened his account by scoring two goals against FC Duren this week. The 31-year-old striker will provide physical presence up front, allowing Flick to even use a 4-4-2 formation.

Joshua Zirkzee was expected to go on loan after Choupo-Moting’s departure, but a transfer did not materialize. The young Dutch striker will also remain an option for the number nine role. Zirkzee made an impact from the bench with his instinctive finishing skills.

Flick has different types of profiles in the wide areas and number ten position. He will have adequate options, even if a key forward suffers injury. The German manager can also switch to different formations and go ultra-attacking mode depending on the situation in the game.
