Match Preview: Bayern Munich face a strong Hoffenheim side

Bayern Munich faces Hoffenheim in the first away game of the Bundesliga campaign.

It has been a good week for Bayern Munich till now. The European Champions clinched a narrow 2-1 win in extra time against Sevilla on Thursday to lift the UEFA Supercup. Die Roten will switch their attention to the Bundesliga as they travel away to Hoffenheim on Sunday.

Rekordmeister started the new campaign in the best possible manner with an emphatic 8-0 win against Schalke last Friday. The team looked hungry on the pitch against Schalke, going for the kill even when the game was beyond Schalke.

The game against Sevilla was a tougher challenge, but Hansi Flick’s men showed resilience to grind out a win when things were not going their way in Budapest. With Borussia Dortmund dropping points on Saturday, Die Roten can open up a three-point lead at the top with a win against Hoffenheim.

The hosts on Sunday decided to appoint Sebastian Hoeness as the first-team manager after his success with reserves at Bayern. Hoeness enjoyed a winning start to the campaign with a nail-biting 3-2 victory away at FC Koln last weekend. The German manager will be looking to build on that performance with a positive result against Die Roten on Sunday.
