Sevilla is a very tricky side to face in a knockout game. They are flexible with their approach, can defend deep with Fernando as a defensive midfielder and the solid center-back pairing of Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde. They reduce the space in their third to suffocate the offensive players.
In the midfield, Ever Banega used to dictate the proceedings for them, but he left the club this summer. The Spanish side has replaced him with Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic. The Croatian is a different type of midfielder compared to Banega, but he can be a very effective box to box option for Sevilla.
Die Roten cannot have lapses in concentration against Sevilla since they have very talented forwards. Suso and Lucas Ocampos are a threat on the flank. They can provide the width and create space for other forwards or cut inside to launch a venomous shot on the goal. In Munir El Hadidi and Luuk De Jong, they have different profiles of forwards available from the bench. The German Champions cannot afford an ounce of complacency against this potent Sevilla side.
