Robert Lewandowski vs Jules Kounde

Robert Lewandowski started the new campaign with a goal and rabona assist against Schalke. The Polish striker was the best number nine in Europe last season, scoring 55 goals across all competitions. He is declared fit for the game after rejoining the first team training session on Tuesday. The Pole had suffered a knock against Schalke.

Lewandowski was the driving force behind Die Roten’s success last season. He has become a selfless forward without compromising his goal tally. The 32-year-old forward works hard for the team by leading the press from the front. Moreover, he has become a creative outlet for the team as he managed ten assists to his name last season.

The Poland international will come up against Jules Kounde. The young defender is subject to interest from Manchester City. Kounde has been one of the best central defenders in Spain despite arriving in the country last summer. Despite having a small frame, Kounde is a dominating defender in aerial duels. Kounde is equally good on the ball, showing a great range of passing while playing out from the back.

With Diego Carlos being the aggressor in the back four, Kounde brings a calming influence in defense for Sevilla. During the Europa League final, he dealt well with Romelu Lukaku, who was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe last season. Keeping Lewandowski quiet is altogether a different ball game, but the sky is the limit for Kounde, so it will be a fascinating duel to watch.
