MID, Joshua Kimmich—9/10

Kimmich was absolutely phenomenal in the midfield. The German midfielder finished with two assists and four key passes. His opening assist was a thing of beauty as he picked out Serge Gnabry who slotted him the first goal. Later in the match, he picked out Leroy Sane for his first goal for Bayern. In the 30th minute, Kimmich’s pass to Lewandowski helped the Polish striker to draw the lone penalty kick of the match. This was a dominant display from Kimmich.

MID, Leon Goretzka—9/10

Goretzka opened his account for the season by scoring Bayern’s second goal in this match. He was dominant and physical in the midfield. By completing 88% of his passes he was rarely wasteful in possession. Overall, this was a great performance from Goretzka and another display of his continued growth into a top-class midfielder.
