Opposition Focus

Schalke got a long time to prepare for this game since the season since their campaign ended in July. They did endure mixed results during club friendlies, but they will have a much better match rhythm than the home side on Friday.

Die Roten will have to gain control of the game quickly to avoid Schalke from getting an early lead by starting strongly. Schalke did lose Weston McKennie this summer to Juventus, but they have very talented midfielders in the squad. Amine Harit will be the creative outlet for Schalke against Die Roten, while Sebastian Rudy is likely to dictate play from a deeper role.

In the attack, Schalke will be boosted with the loan signing of Gonçalo Paciencia, but he is unlikely to start on Friday. Marc Uth will be the key man in the attack for visitors. Considering the form of Die Roten’s form, this should be a straightforward win, but Schalke has the players to capitalise on the sluggishness of Die Roten players due to less pre-season training.

Score Predictions

Bayern Munich 3-0 Schalke

After enjoying the incredible Champions League victory three weeks ago, I expect Die Roten to hit the ground running with a comprehensive win against Schalke on Friday.
