Bayern Munich: Five Things to watch out in 2020/21 campaign
Chances for young players
After the success of Joshua Zirkzee and Alphonso Davies last season, the future looks bright for young players at Bayern Munich. Davies was bought from Vancouver Whitecaps, but to show consistent faith in a young player in some of the biggest games shows that Hansi Flick is ready to nurture young players.
Along with Davies, Zirkzee was also thrown in tough situations by Flick. The Dutch forward obliged and came up with some big goals. Zirkzee has firmly established himself as back up to Robert Lewandowski in the current squad as he got the number 14 for the upcoming campaign.
Die Roten has been recruiting aggressively at the youth level. The club probably knows that they cannot compete for big fees with other European giants, but astute investment in young players can form the foundation of a successful team.
In the upcoming campaign, Die Roten fans will be looking forward to further development of Zirkzee and the involvement of Adrian Fein in the first team. Hopefully, Jann-Fiete Arp also returns in the first-team plans. Along with these players, there are few exciting prospects such as Chris Richards in the reserves team that can get some playing time with the first team.
