Substitutes were decisive for Bayern Munich

ST, Robert Lewandowski — 8.5/10

After years of criticism, Robert Lewandowski rounded off an impressive campaign with a good display against Paris Saint-Germain. The Polish striker was the focal point of Die Roten’s attack as he dominated the center-back pairing of PSG. He was unlucky to be not on the scoresheet as his shot hit the woodwork in the first half. Keylor Navas also denied him a chance with a superb save when the Polish striker glanced the header from a difficult position. He didn’t get on the scoresheet, but his contribution was telling in the win against PSG, proving once again why he is the best number nine in the world.

Substitutes

DEF, Niklas Sule — 8/10

Sule showed on Sunday that he is the long term defensive rock in this Bayern team. The German defender came on in the 25th minute and slotted seamlessly in the back four. His positioning was on the money, while his accurate long balls in the second half allowed Die Roten to retain the ball in the final third. Under pressure, the German defender looked calm and composed.

FWD, Philippe Coutinho — 7/10

In his last appearance for Die Roten, Coutinho came on just after the hour mark. The Brazilian provided on the left flank. His introduction allowed the German champions to sustain possession in the final third. He also worked hard when the team was put under pressure by PSG during the later stages of the game.

FWD, Ivan Perisic — 7/10

Perisic was surprisingly on the bench rather than featuring in the starting XI after his consistent performances in the last three games. However, Flick’s gamble paid off. The Croatian also made a very positive impact from the bench when he replaced Coman in the 68th minute. He worked hard defensively to win the ball and always remained an outlet on the right flank.

MID, Corentin Tolisso — N/A

Tolisso came on late in the game to replace Thiago in the center of the park. The Frenchman kept it simple and helped the team to see out the game.
