Complete midfield dominance from Bayern Munich

MID, Thiago Alcantara — 9/10

A final game in Bavarian colours was always going to be emotional for Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard was in tears after the final whistle as he achieved the dream of winning the Champions League title with the German club. In the final, Thiago was the best midfielder on the pitch. The Spanish midfielder showed what exactly Die Roten is going to miss next season. Thiago dominated the tempo of the game through his clever short passing and expansive long passing. The former Barcelona midfielder also showed great defensive awareness in front of the defense, making clean tackles to win the balls from the PSG forwards. What a terrific way to bow out from Bayern for the Spanish midfielder.

MID, Leon Goretzka — 8/10

Similar to Thiago, Goretzka also had a fairly decent game. His passing might not grab the headlines, but he executed the duties of his role with perfection. The German midfielder kept it simple by being secure in possession. Goretzka also won the majority of aerial duels he contested. He was not able to contribute in the final third, but his defensive work allowed Bayern to be less vulnerable on the break. He has improved a lot under Flick this season, and there is still more to come from the German midfielder.
