Bayern Munich may have to shore up the defense in the final

Just like the game against Barcelona, Die Roten looked defensively all over the place against Lyon. The French side had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Memphis Depay found himself in one vs one situation with Manuel Neuer.

The high-line of defense allows Bayern to play on the front foot, but it leaves acres of space for the opposition to exploit. Barcelona managed to do that on a few occasions, while Lyon were on top in the first 15 minutes of the game by taking advantage of this weakness.

On both occasions, Rekordmeister got away, but they cannot afford to give the same amount of space and time to PSG on Sunday. The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Angel Di Maria will not miss chances. The game could be over in few minutes if Die Roten doesn’t start well defensively.

Hansi Flick may have to change the shape a bit to keep PSG forwards quiet on Sunday. A slightly defensive approach, moving the last line of defense deeper to reduce the space for PSG forwards. The German champions have the right midfield and attacking set up to play on the counter, so one can not rule out Flick shoring up the defense on Sunday.
