Three takeaways as Bayern Munich beat Lyon to book a place in CL final.

Finally, Bayern Munich had reached the Champions League final after six years of disappointment in the knockout rounds. The German club was expected to progress in the final after it was revealed that they would face Lyon in the semi-finals.

Eventually, the German champions showed their ruthless edge by scoring two quickfire goals in the space of 15 minutes in the first half to put the game beyond the French side. Robert Lewandowski rounded off a gritty performance by scoring the third goal in the seal the victory.

Hansi Flick has completed a monumental turnaround for Die Roten. The German manager got the job in November when the club looked on a downward slide in the Bundesliga. After an unbeaten run since late December, they find themselves on the verge of winning the treble.

The German manager and Die Roten players looked tired against Lyon, but they kept on going to clinch the result.
