Opposition Focus

Chelsea is set to be without numerous players for this game, including former Bundesliga player Christian Pulisic and captain Cesar Azpilicueta. Despite the injury woes, Chelsea has enough in their arsenal to cause problems for Die Roten.

Matteo Kovacic has been the main man for Lampard in the midfield. The Croatian can play through the press and keep the play ticking. Die Roten will have to make sure that he doesn’t get enough time on the ball to dictate the proceedings.

In the attack, Oliver Giroud is a handful due to his physical strength. The Frenchman can hold the ball and bring other forwards into the action. He is also a threat from set-pieces. His movement towards the front post when the ball is in wider positions unsettles the best defensive setups. Callum Hudson-Odoi is another player Die Roten should keep a close eye on during this game.

Score Prediction

Bayern Munich 2-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are a deflated side due to FA Cup final loss against Arsenal last weekend. They are also missing several players due to injury. With a fresh Bayern squad, I expect this game to go in the home side’s favour with a comfortable victory.
