ST, Robert Lewandowski — 9/10

Robert Lewandowski rounded off his best campaign in Germany with a brace in the cup final. The Polish striker was not at his best in this game, but still, he could have scored a hattrick. His early headed effort in the third minute missed the target. The Pole showed awareness to make a clever run from the central position at the hour mark to score his first goal. Lukas Hradecky made a mess of an easy save, but Lewandowski will not complain. His second goal was a well-crafted move as he calmly slotted the ball into the net after Perisic put the chance on a plate for him. Die Roten will be hoping that he continues to deliver in big games when Champions League football returns next month. Scoring a brace meant that Lewandowski got past 50 goals for the campaign.

Substitutes

FWD, Ivan Perisic — 7.5/10

Perisic came on for Coman just around the hour mark. He was lively in the final third and showed great composure to square the ball for Lewandowski’s second goal at the end of the game. The Croatian also had a terrific shot saved Lukas Hradecky.

DEF, Lucas Hernandez — N/A

Hernandez was brought on to slot in central defense after Boateng suffered a minor knock. The Frenchman didn’t put a foot wrong during his short stay on the pitch.
