Honorable Mentions for Bayern Munich

Alvaro Odriozola was brought in to provide cover in the right-back position and challenge Benjamin Pavard. Unfortunately, he was unable to do that. He has struggled to break into the starting XI under Flick, getting only two starts since arriving on loan from Real Madrid in January.

Flick decided to give some minutes to the Spaniard. This match showed why Odriozola has struggled to play regularly. He did not look up to par with the rest of his teammates, and although he is going back to Real Madrid, it was clear in this match why Pavard was always starting ahead of him.

It was mentioned above, but Serge Gnabry needs to find his old form if he wants to be a first-choice winger at Bayern. He has been very poor recently and hasn’t been able to contribute to the score sheet. If media analysts are going to attack Coman and his poor performances, then they should do the same for when Gnabry also plays poorly.

It was great to see Philippe Coutinho back on the field after a lengthy lay off due to ankle injury. His quality is second to none, and he offers so much to the attack. Hopefully, he can go for a full 90 minutes soon as he would be instrumental in helping the team win the other two competitions.
