Bayern Munich face Wolfsburg on the final day of the Bundesliga campaign.

After a long break due to coronavirus pandemic, Bundesliga has managed to complete its campaign in six weeks. Bayern Munich clinched the league title last week against Werder Bremen, so the last game away at Wolfsburg is a mere formality for them.

Die Roten come into this game after a comfortable 3-1 win against Freiburg. Hansi Flick made numerous changes against Freiburg, but there was not a drop in performance levels as fringe players and young players impressed for the Bundesliga champions. The German manager doesn’t want his team to get the foot off the pedal and continue the winning run to keep momentum ahead of next weekend’s DFB Pokal final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Winning against Wolfsburg will round off a tremendous Ruckrunde for Flick’s men. They have dropped points only once in the last 16 league games, a goalless draw against RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena. This strong unbeaten run helped Die Roten to overhaul Leipzig’s four-point lead at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg will have the opportunity to round off an impressive Bundesliga campaign by finishing sixth in the table. Hoffenheim is just behind them on goal difference, so a positive result on Sunday will help Wolfsburg to seal the European football for next season.
