Five reasons behind Bayern Munich’s title win under Hansi Flick this season.

It was an eventful week for Bayern Munich. After seeing out Werder Bremen on Tuesday, Die Roten clinched the Bundesliga title. The German team were in no mood to get their foot off the pedal against Freiburg on Saturday as they coasted to a 3-1 win against Freiburg at Allianz Arena.

Bayern experienced a difficult start to the campaign as Niko Kovac’s men consistently dropped points in the Bundesliga. They also suffered a 2-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in DFL Supercup. However, they did produce some magnificent performances in the Champions League, including a 7-2 win over Tottenham Hotspurs in London Stadium.

Despite delivering a historic performance in Europe, the pressure was piling on Kovac due to poor performances in the Bundesliga. The Croatian manager parted ways with the club when Die Roten suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in November.

Hansi Flick was initially given the caretaker role. Improvement in performances lead to an interim role and eventually a permanent role in April. After winning the Bundesliga last week, there is serious talk in Germany about Die Roten winning another treble. Let us look at five reasons behind Bayern’s turnaround in fortunes over the last eight months.
